Focus Birmingham have a new opportunity for a Volunteer Coordinator to join our friendly team. The Volunteer Coordinator will recruit, support and manage volunteers across the charity and showcase the work of our volunteers and all the volunteering opportunities available.

Find out what one of our volunteers had to say about working with Focus

Caroline Marshall currently supports our telephone befriending service and before lockdown worked with the people we support through home visiting and coffee morning sessions. Caroline has been volunteering for Focus for around three years.

Caroline commented, “Volunteering has allowed me to meet some amazing people, listen to interesting stories and has given me structure during lockdown. Talking to service users each week has helped boost my self-confidence and I get to speak to people from all walks of life.

I would totally recommend volunteering because it can help you expand your network, learn new skills and you’ll be supporting a vital service within your community”.

One of our service users, Surinder Kaur, adds “The befriending service has had a positive impact upon my wellbeing especially during lockdown. Before I was referred to the service I was feeling very low and now having someone call me each week has made a real difference”.

Can you help others to make a real difference and make lives better?
