Please read the following information if you have made a text donation using the information obtained on our website:

Focus Birmingham (registered charity number 1065745) will receive 95% of your donation. You will be charged for one standard text message plus your donation. If you are unsure what your standard text charge rate is please contact your network provider. Always get the bill payers permission. By texting us you are letting us know that you would like to receive updates from us about the charity.  However if this is not the case and you want to donate, but don’t want Focus Birmingham to contact you by text in future, add the words NO INFO (e.g. [KEYWORD] NO INFO) when texting your donation.

Focus Christmas Raffle 2022 Terms & Conditions

By entering, Eligible Participants agree to be bound by these Raffle Terms and Conditions. Updated and effective December 2022

 

  1. This raffle is being promoted by and on behalf of Focus Birmingham. All profits from the lottery go towards funding Focus Birmingham services, which support people with sight loss and complex needs.
  2. For the purpose of the Gambling Act 2005, this lottery is defined as a ‘Society Lottery.’
  3. This lottery is licensed by a licence issued by Birmingham City Council.
  4. To enter the lottery, you must be a UK resident aged 18 or over. The lottery has a statutory duty to verify that members and potential members have reached the age of 18. It is an offence for anyone under the age of 18 to participate in a lottery.
  5. There will be two cash prizes only. 1st Prize - £100 and 2nd Prize - £50
  6. All tickets shall be priced at £1 and monies are payable in advance.
  7. The draw will take place on 20th December 2022 at the Focus Birmingham offices, 48 – 62 Woodville Road, Harborne, Birmingham B17 9AT. You do not need to be present at the draw to win.
  8. All ticket sales are final and no refunds shall be made at any time. All participants acknowledge that their payment of £1 per ticket to enter the lottery does not guarantee that they will win any prize.
  9. If a cash prize is awarded, this will be made by cheque or BACS in the name of the member only. Prize winners will be notified by post within one week of the draw taking place.
  10. Full payment for each ticket must be received in cleared funds before the ticket can be entered into the draw. Only tickets for which full payment has been received either in cleared funds are eligible to win the prize.

 

  1. All ticket purchasers are solely responsible for providing Focus Birmingham with their accurate and up-to-date contact details and they will be in no way be liable for any failure or inability to contact a ticket holder due to any errors, omissions or inaccuracies in the contact details that the ticket holder has provided. In the event that a ticket holder changes their contact details, they will be solely responsible for advising Focus Birmingham of the change.
  2. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to take part in promotional activity and Focus Birmingham reserves the right to use the name of the winner, their photograph and audio and/or visual recordings of them in any publicity unless prior notification has been received.
  3. Each ticket number is unique.
  4. Nothing within these terms and conditions shall create or should be construed as creating any form of contract between any ticket holder and Focus Birmingham.
  5. Any complaints relating to this lottery should be sent in writing to Focus Birmingham giving full details of the complaint and supporting documentation.
  6. Focus Birmingham is committed to protecting the ticket holder’s privacy. Any data that is collected is used lawfully in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018 and is used solely for the purpose of processing lottery chances, and informing winners that they have won a prize.
  7. Any ticket holder has the right to access the information held about them. To obtain this information, please contact Focus Birmingham in writing.
  8. Focus Birmingham will not sell, rent or grant access of any personal data to any third party without prior permission. In the event of any dispute regarding the rules, the decision of Focus Birmingham shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
  9. Focus Birmingham reserves the right to amend these rules at any time. In the event Focus Birmingham does this, it will publish the amended rules.
  10. Focus Birmingham reserves the right to disqualify any member if it has reasonable grounds to believe the member has breached any of these rules.

 

  1. The staff member responsible for the promotion of the Focus Christmas raffle is Tracy Johnson.
  2. Raffles are a form of gambling. Participants are encouraged to gamble sensibly.
  3. All complaints and disputes will be dealt with in accordance with our complaints policy. A copy of which is available on enquiry.
  4. The Laws of England and Wales shall govern the interpretation and/or enforcement of these Terms and Conditions and Focus Birmingham and all participants hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
  5. Focus Birmingham reserves the right to amend or modify these terms and conditions without notice.
