Whether it’s offering companionship, supporting activities, helping behind the scenes, or sharing specialist skills, every volunteer makes a real difference to the people we support.

We offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities to suit different interests, skills, and availability. From flexible, one-off support to regular weekly roles. Telephone Befriender

What you’ll do: Make weekly phone calls to offer companionship, conversation and support to someone who may feel isolated.

Time needed: Around 1–2 hours per week (flexible to suit you).

Rewards: Boosted confidence, stronger communication and people skills, and a meaningful addition to your CV.

Art Group Teacher Volunteer

What you’ll do: Lead engaging art and craft sessions for people with sight loss and complex needs, helping individuals express themselves, build confidence and feel connected through creative activities such as watercolours, clay, knitting and other crafts. 

Time needed: Every other Thursday, 10:00am–12:00pm, plus set up and pack down time. Minimum 12-month commitment requested.

Admin Volunteer

What you’ll do: Support our team with day- to-day administration tasks such as updating records, making follow-up calls, organising information, preparing materials and helping services run smoothly for people with sight loss and complex needs  

Time needed: Flexible volunteering hours available, with just a few hours per week making a meaningful difference. Opportunities available from home or at our centre.
