Empowering Change: Addressing Health Inequalities experienced by People with Sight Loss and Individuals with Complex Needs

At Focus Birmingham, we believe in creating opportunities for every voice to be heard and every challenge to be met. That's why we're proud to announce our new Public Health-funded projects targeting the sight loss community and individuals with complex needs.

What We're Doing:

Community-Driven Solutions: Hosting inclusive focus groups to identify and address key health inequalities.

Health Literacy: Developing and sharing accessible health information tailored to community needs.

Training & Empowerment: Supporting individuals to become Health Inequality Champions, equipped with skills to lead and advocate.

Why It Matters:

People with sight loss and complex needs often face unique challenges in accessing healthcare and have limited influence on policies that impact their lives. These projects will enable:

Inclusion: Co-producing solutions with individuals with lived experience.

Awareness: Amplifying community voices to drive systemic change.

Sustainability: Building long-term capacity for collective health improvement.
